Bart is responsible for the worldwide IT Strategy, covering IT infrastructure as well as IT applications, project delivery as well as support. The IT team at Bekaert serves more than 6000 users in manufacturing & sales locations in EMEA, North America, Latin America and Asia Pacific. The resource pool is strongly supported by outsourced teams, where Bekaert aims at building strong partnerships with a limited set of strategic outsourcing partners. Bart is a Commercial Engineer with an additional degree in IT management and was appointed CIO of Bekaert in March 2009. He has held various IT and finance positions since he joined Bekaert in 1989, and as CIO he is reporting to the CFO of the Bekaert Group.

Luc, a graduate civil engineer construction started his career as underwriter of technical insurances at Mercator, Antwerp. 5 Years later he moved to the publishing industry at Corelio, Brussels. He was responsible for information management in the commercial department and managed related ICT projects. Then he moved to the ICT department were he became responsible for all ICT projects. After 10 years, Luc changed from industry sector and switched to IBM as CIO.Since 18 years he works as CIO  for the Persgroep and has operational responsibility for the Belgian, Dutch and Danish activities. Luc is closely involved in the merger and acquisition strategy of De Persgroep and is leading the ICT integration of newly acquired businesses.
