Komatsu, a (global) manufacturer of (mainly) construction, mining, utility and forestry equipment was founded in the city of Komatsu (Japan) in 1921 by Meitaro Takeuchi as a subsidiary of Takeuchi Mining industry. Since then it has grown to become a company with about 60.000 employees and a projected turnover of more than 21 Billion €. Komatsu’s European head office was established in 1967 and is currently located in Vilvoorde, Belgium; offering shelter to it’s European ICT organization lead by Chris Borremans since 1991.
