The Next generation of IT professionals. E-mail
Written by Leroy Roland

During our last CIO Forum Café in October, held in Antwerp, the HR working team presented its consolidated findings and propositions to act for the year to come.

As you all know it is the intention of the Forum members to support actively the education programs of the higher institutions that deliver the next generation of IT professionals. The Catholic High School Kempen supported a first initiative and prototype during 2009.

The project owners, Joost and Luc, proposed an action program to the CIO members and the representatives of several educational bodies.
The audience was composed of students and professors of the Universities of Antwerp and Brussels, Karel de Grote High School and KH Kempen. The Antwerp University even presented their own vision and promotional movie on how to achieve a better collaboration and educational tuning with the business.

All in all a successful evening that incites the Forum and the participants to continue this effort and ensure a continuation in the next year. Several CIO’s volunteered to become a spokesperson at the different institutions and ensure a coordination and active interaction with the CIO Forum. Some firm commitments to act during 2010 were taken.

We are confident that this initiative together with other initiatives can proactively correct the present shortcoming of the badly needed IT professionals.
